This weekend the Khomas Region Championships were held at the Independence Stadium where the champions were chosen for several different competitions taking place this year.

According to competition director Letu Hamhola, they are excited about what is to come for the athletes.

"Athletics Namibia has several Grand Prix in Swakopmund to Oshakati back to Windhoek. This event was open for all athletes in the Khomas region," he said.

The results were as follows:

Women’s 400 metres T11 - Lahja Hishitile

Men’s 400 metres T11 - Ananias Shikongo, Chris Kinda

Women’s 100 metres hurdles - Alessandra Kaura, Kleshy Ngonga, Tumella Kameya

Women's high jump - Chantelle van den Berg, Ane de Bruin

Women’s triple jump - Frieda Iithete

Men's shot put - Coenraad Kune, Reggie Benade, Hope Katjihingua, Simon Shihepo

Women’s discus - Tuane Silver, Cira de Wet, Estomi Katjijova, Hella Kuppe, Christene Zeidler

The athletes qualified for games in places like Dubai, Oregon and Cali.
