NAC 'disheartened' by Menzies’ conduct

News in short
Ogone Tlhage
The Namibia Airports Company (NAC) says it is disheartening that British ground-handling company Menzies Aviation has not handed over cargo stored at the Hosea Kutako International Airport (HKIA) to its rightful owners.

This follows appeals to Menzies that it hand over the cargo to the Namibia Revenue Agency (NamRA) to facilitate its clearance. Menzies was tasked with ground-handling services at the airport until its eviction from HKIA last month.

NAC CEO Bisey Uirab expressed his disappointment in Menzies’ conduct.

“It is disheartening that despite the NAC and NamRA’s concerted efforts to persuade Menzies to hand over the cargo to NamRA for the agency to release it to entities and/or individuals that own such cargo, Menzies has thus far not complied with requests in this regard,” he said.

Local company Paragon Aviation Services has since taken over ground-handling services at the airport.
