Keep roads safe, MVA urges

The Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) Fund has urged road users to prioritise safety on Namibian roads during the mourning period of late president Hage Geingob.
In a media statement, CEO Rosalia Martins-Hausiku said they expect an increase in traffic flow into Windhoek, and it is especially during this time that motorists and road users should exercise utmost caution, patience and vigilance.
“The safety of all road users is paramount, and it is incumbent upon each one of us to contribute to a safe and orderly traffic environment. We appeal to all motorists to adhere to speed limits, avoid reckless driving and exercise patience on the roads, especially amidst heightened traffic. Additionally, we call upon pedestrians to be equally vigilant and cautious, using designated pedestrian crossings and pathways wherever available,” she said.
She further urged Namibians to honour the memory of the late president by demonstrating responsibility and respect for one another on the roads to mitigate the risk of accidents and tragedies during this sombre time.
