Tour operator takes over Dune 7 management

Sandwich Dune Tours and Safari was recently announced as the operator for the Dune 7 concession inside the Dorob National Park.
The company is expected to take over management soon and will employ at least 45 workers as part of its operations.
Tourism ministry spokesperson Romeo Muyunda said the popular recreational area has recently been criticised for various issues, and as a long-term solution, the ministry advertised a tender for interested individuals and companies to manage the area. The tender process closed on 27 January and attracted 18 companies.
Sandwich Dune Tours will offer various adventure activities including paragliding, dune climbing, stargazing as well as tours to Walvis Bay. It will also open a restaurant, and can host special events like weddings or corporate functions. The restaurant will include a swimming pool and a bar.
Visitors will also be able to overnight, as the company will construct 10 luxury chalets.
