#JustIn: Unveiling of marble rhino
The Namibia Professional Hunting Association (Napha) this morning unveiled a marble rhino statue in front of the FNB Namibia building in Independence Avenue in Windhoek.
The project, Hunters Support Against Poaching, in 2017 held an auction facilitated by Napha.
It was a unique initiative where two sculptors, French artist Ge Pellini and Namibian artist Alfeus Mvula, were provided with marble blocks to craft sculptures of rhinos.
Both had 35 days to complete their work. Perilini used power tools in his work, while Mvula relied on hand tools.
