#JUST IN: World Tourism Day celebrated with peace as its theme
World Tourism Day is being celebrated today under the theme 'Tourism and Peace', which is aimed at exploring the intersection of travel and fostering harmony worldwide.
Spokesperson of the tourism ministry, Romeo Muyunda, says the theme is a good fit for Namibia as the country prepares for the presidential and National Assembly election later this year. He said elections can either contribute to peace-building efforts or exacerbate existing tensions, depending on the conduct of political leaders, electoral processes and responses to election outcomes.
