Expo encourages cultural exchange

The Windhoek Country Club Resort will this week play host to the Namibia Tourism Expo, with doors opening at 16:00 tomorrow afternoon.
Tourism minister Pohamba Shifeta will officially open the 2024 Namibia Tourism Expo tomorrow afternoon at 15:00. As from 16:00, members of the public will gain access to numerous service providers employed in the tourism sector, as well as various special offers.
Last year, the main organiser of the expo, Namibia Media Holdings (NMH), held seminars addressing a wide range of topics related to tourism for the first time.
This year, exhibitors and service providers will again delve deeper into the expectations of visitors, especially from an African perspective. On Thursday morning, the executive director of the Kavango-Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area (KAZA-TFCA), Dr Nyambe Nyambe, will shed light on the background of this massive park, keeping with the theme 'Beyond Borders'.
KAZA comprises not only national parks of partner countries Namibia, Angola, Botswana, Zambia and Zimbabwe, but also a variety of conservancies and forest reserves.
Local representatives will discuss cultural exchange alongside their counterparts from Botswana and Zimbabwe, while Loren Yan from the Chinese embassy in Windhoek will address cultural exchange between China and Africa, and the Malaysian High Commission will shed light on other Asian expectations.
On Thursday evening, performances by a number of Namibia's most popular artists will electrify the audience. Well-known figures Savannah Collins, Lioness, Carnival of Flames, Ongoma Drum Cafe, Ou Slow, The Ell's, Fire Drummer MJ007, Patricia and many more will provide a wide selection for every taste. This while the stage is located in close proximity to stands dedicated to culinary delights to ensure that the foodies leave happy too.
