Tourist of the Year 2022-2023
Namibia Media Holdings launched the Tourist of the Year competition at the Tourism Expo in November last year.

During a live event at the Tourism Expo in 2022, six finalists were announced, where after each supporting tourism enterprise drew one of the final contestants from a hat. They are:

Gondwana Collection Namibia: Etosha King Nehale Lodge - Vaino Shaumbwa

Journeys Namibia: Erongo Wild Lodge - Renier van Wyk

N/a'an ku sê Collection: TimBila Safari Lodge - Sulet Gous

Namibia Wildlife Resorts: Dolomite Camp - Kamoca Fernandes

O&L Leisure: Mokuti Etosha - Ndapanda Haininga

Wild Waters Group: Jackalberry Camp - Taimi Nuunyango

The Tourist of the Year competition is designed to get the public involved in a major way and as organisers, NMH still has all voters' numbers on record. Moreover, previous voters are also still eligible to win a weekend for two, if you previously voted for the candidate that now ends up winning the overall contest.

The final six video clips – as submitted by the above candidates – will be launched on 27 April at 17:00 at the Tourism Expo 2023. They are already all winners, what with them having been allowed to visit any of the above magnificent destinations.

However, in their video presentations, they need to share their planning and their journeys as well as the experience that they had at the destination; experiences that could in future become yours, too!

The winner goes home with the grand prize of N$10 000. But to establish who this lucky person will be, NMH’s design team will assess the final product, which carries 50% of the weight towards finding a winner, while you – the public – will be asked to vote as well, as your votes account for the other 50%. If you do take part and vote, your effort may land you N$1 000 in cash.

The video clips will be promoted on the Tourismus Namibia Facebook page as well as other NMH news platforms during May. Watch the press and vote to become part of the group that chooses the final winner!
