Salute Boxing Academy will host a boxing bonanza themed ‘Back to Action’ on Saturday at the Safari Hotel in Windhoek.

The boxing event will see 15 bouts, with the main fight to be headlined by Fillemon Nghutenanye, who will go up against Ally Ngwando of Tanzania. Nghutenanye said he is ready to retain his WBA Pan Africa title.

“I’m just here for business. I came to do my job. Ngwando came with nothing, and he will leave with nothing. This is not a joke. I had a fine camp, and I’m ready.”

His opponent said that he hasn’t watched or studied the defending champion.

“I haven’t studied my opponent, but I’m confident of myself. I prepared well. I want to share my experience, and I hope you will enjoy the fight,” Ngwando said through a translator. The spokesperson of the academy, Friderich Ngiyolwa, said they wanted to co-host the event with Lions Heart Production of America, but that the deal didn’t go through. He said they hope they can work together in the future.

Join the fun

In addition, he said that their plan is to make a change in the lives of Namibian boxers.

“We want to make sure they contribute positively to our society.” Salute Boxing Academy owner Kiriata Kamanya said that a man doesn’t need to know who his enemy is, or what his name is when going to war.

“He is only given a weapon to fight and to win the battle. My coaches have been working hard in the gym, and I want to thank them.”

Kamanya added that they will still have another event in December to close off the year, but that they haven’t set the date for that event yet. He urged fans to come in numbers to watch the fights.
