Namibian pugilist Jeremiah 'Lowkey' Nakathila is gloved up to confront unbeaten American prospect Raymond Muratalla in a lightweight 10-round undercard bout on Saturday in Las Vegas.
When Raymond Muratalla called out Jeremiah ‘Lowkey’ Nakathila in November last year after defeating Miguel Contreras in the sixth round, no one thought the fight would ever happen.
But seven months later, the two boxers are set to clash in Las Vegas on Saturday night, with Nakathila warning that he is no newcomer to the city of bright lights and is ready to cause an upset.
This fight will take place alongside the highly anticipated mega clash between undisputed lightweight champion Devin Haney and Ukrainian Vasyl Lomachenko.

The Namibian has 23 fights, 19 by knockout, and two losses under his belt.
The last time Nakathila was in the ring in Las Vegas was when he lost to America’s Shakur Stevenson. But he has had two successes in Las Vegas, including a previous defeat against Mexican professional Miguel Berchelt – the former super featherweight champion – via technical knockout.
Muratalla, on the other hand, has 17 undefeated fights on his record.
A record that Nakathila is eager to change.
"I’m ready for this fight. After our last victory against Berchelt, everything got difficult as everyone was running scared. We kept on working hard in the gym and were always hopeful that something big will come up.
"It’s always difficult to get a big fight,” he said.
“Of course, all boxers want to be busy, but it’s about opportunity, and we've got a great opportunity, and we will show the world my boxing skills again," he added.
"I want to make a statement. I feel excited. Las Vegas is my home ground. No fear here. I want to do this for my team and my country," he added.
Opportunity knocks
Nakathila’s promoter, Nestor Tobias from the MTC Nestor Sunshine Tobias Academy, said they are happy to have been given another chance to show the world that they deserve to be part of this great card and the biggest fight of the year.
"Every athlete would love to be part of this card, and we would like to thank Bob Arum and his team for having trust in our ability," he said.
"This is the biggest boxing show of the year, promoted by the biggest and by far the most successful promoter of all time. I feel honoured to be part of this show. We will go in and display our boxing ability, as their dream is to fight for the world title."
Tobias told Top Rank, an American boxing magazine: "Hopefully we will get the opportunity to fight the winner of the main bout."
