PstBet sponsors Khuse Lions FC for three years

Premier Sports Trading (PstBet) on Wednesday announced a three-year sponsorship deal worth N$150 000 to the Khuse Lions Football Club in Oshakati, which included a donation of sports clothing and equipment.
Khuse Lions were a top-performing team at the PstBet tournament that was held at Omugwelume in Ohangwena Region last year.
The items received by the club consist of the team’s home and away kits, 10 soccer balls, 40 training cones, 30 branded bibs, and PstBet-branded items.
Committed to uplift
PstBet CEO Steve Hamunyela said sport unites everyone, and their company is committed to meeting government halfway in harnessing sports talent and assisting communities.
He said the sponsorship runs over three years as per an agreement with the football club.
“We take pride in going above and beyond to demonstrate this in any way we can, which is why we are eager to participate in this sponsorship effort for the Khuse Lions Football Club,” he said.
Hamunyela said their company is dedicate to assisting clubs in uplifting communities.
He said it is also an investment to help the athletes reach the pinnacle of their abilities and enhance the standard of living for young Namibians in the face of escalating unemployment.
Dream come true
Khuse Lions team manager David Tutaleni was beaming with joy, saying the sponsorship a dream come true for him and his team.
In fact, Tutaleni said their participation in the tournament last year was aimed at winning, to enable the club to improve conditions within the team and to motivate the players.
The club was founded in 2006 and has 30 players registered for the Oshana second division.
Some players were loaned to other national clubs.
“We really worked hard. Our main objective was to get the sponsorship. We played against 102 teams and we came in as runners-up. This sponsorship will see us achieve our goals to move from the Oshana second division so we can be promoted to the first division,” Tutaleni said.
Like Hamunyela, Tutaleni believes that sport can help keep young people off the streets and improve their standard of living.
He said they will prioritise training to improve and polish their skills.
“The sponsorship comes at the perfect time for our boys. We will forge on,” Tutaleni said.

Before the sponsorship, the team trained with two balls, which were donated to them by good Samaritans who recognised the ability of the players and how well they played.
Tutaleni added that their academy programme serves roughly 60 kids between the ages of 13 and 17, all endowed with raw talent.
“We hope that they accept their place on national teams as part of creating opportunities for them to grow within their careers,” he said.
