Boxer Emmanuel Mungandjela has been given the opportunity of a lifetime to fight abroad, following an invitation to fight in the UK.

The vacant WBC International Super Lightweight title at the O2 Arena in London is slated for 26 November. Mungandjela, nicknamed “The Lion”, boasts a professional record of 20 fights, 16 wins, seven of which were knockouts. The Namibian has lost three times while only obtaining one draw in his professional career.

Big chance

Mungandjela said he was happy to have been given this opportunity to fight outside the country.

The boxer has his eyes set on making a name for himself in a potential career-boosting bout.

“I am grateful for the opportunity; it is indeed a massive fight for me.

“I will go there with no pressure and box my style and just do my best and take my chances as they come,” Mungandjela said.

Mungandjela has been in fine form in recent bouts, having secured 13 consecutive victories.

The MTC Sunshine Boxing Stable believes that this is the boxer’s biggest career test to date.

Confident opponent

He comes up against an undefeated O’Leary, who boasts a record of 10 fights and 10 wins, with six of them coming by knockout. The fight will be on the undercard of the main event, which will see Zach Parker trading leather against John Ryder for the WBO Interim World Super Middleweight title.

O’Leary is confident that Mungandjela will pose no threat to his ambitions of clinching the WBC belt. He said he is confident of a win and will move on to bigger fights in 2023.

Another MTC Sunshine boxer, Nestor Amukoto, will also be on international duty against Hassan Azim over six rounds.

This fight will take place in London on 27 November 2022.

Amukoto has six fights, two wins, three losses and one draw, while his opponent is undefeated with a record of only four fights with straight wins.
