MLF Namibia gets ready for exciting fishing year
Major League Fishing (MLF) Namibia tournament director, Neil Engelbrecht, explained that the fishing platform is used to promote and share a passion for bass fishing.
He said their main goal is to entertain, engage, educate and steward the sport.
MLF is the world’s largest tournament fishing organisation and premier outdoor entertainment brand and recently announced the launch of the King Price team tournament trial for 2023, with fishing events scheduled for 21 January; 4 March; 1 April; 29 July; 2 September and 2 December at Lake Oanob and Von Bach Dam, respectively.
Big prizes
Engelbrecht said the events will offer the biggest payouts to winners to date.
"First place holders will win N$10 000 per tournament, and the overall winners will qualify to represent Namibia at the 2024 MLF final event in the USA.
"Each team will consist of two senior anglers with the option to add up to two junior anglers. This option contributes to the junior development of bass fishing in Namibia," he explained.
King Price marketing manager Christo van der Merwe said coming on board as a sponsor for MLF is an exciting prospect and will allow Namibia access to an international stage while representing the country in the USA next year.
