#JustIn: Helalia Johannes chases new record
Junior Kapofi - Namibia’s long-distance runner, Helalia Johannes, has just been announced as the Namibia Wildlife Resort (NWR) half marathon ambassador.
The marathon is set to take place on 27 May at Gross Barmen Resort, where Johannes will attempt to break the 1:07:49 record she set last year in Port Elizabeth at the South African national half marathon championships.
She will be running alongside Nelson Ashipala, the corporate communications, online media and MICE (meetings, incentives, conventions, conferences and exhibitions) manager of NWR.
This competition is not only about breaking the record, but also about promoting a healthy and active lifestyle, Ashipala said in a media statement.
The public can sign up for the run on the NWR website https://www.nwr.com.na/nwr-annual-half-marathon/ or by visiting the head office.
