RÖSSMUND

Swakopmund’s Rössmund Golf Club kicked off their 2025 season with some real golf in its monthly medal tournament sponsored by Novanam.

Weather conditions were perfect and it was great to have some old and new faces making up the 37-player field, including the return of Graham Louw and Des Frankfort.

Only one 2-club was achieved, namely by the club captain George Murasiki.

The January Overall Medal was won by up-and-coming junior Benjamin van Wyk with a 66 nett.

The A Division went to the young MS Buys (70 nett), the B Division was won by “eligible bachelor” Steven Johns (70 nett), whilst the C Division was snatched up by Mark Jacobs (72 nett).

Rina Knight took the ladies division on 79 nett, whilst the top junior was Rudi Auseb 75 nett.

This coming weekend Rössmund will host the Namibia Amateur Ladies Golf Union’s NALGU 2025 Hollard Ladies Coastal Open for the 19th year in succession.
