African Stars Football Club are fighting against all odds to have their PstBet final match played this weekend, while they also attempt to have their FIFA transfer ban overturned.

The football club has found itself caught in recent off-field tussles as issues concerning the club’s well-being seems to be piling up.

The club was last week was served with a three-season transfer ban domestically and internationally, after failing to pay their former player Peter Adiwo an outstanding N$180 000.

Club chairman Salomon Hei has reiterated that the football club will plead with the world football governing body to reverse the ban.

CAF aspirations threatened

The decision to ban the back-to-back Debmarine Namibia Premiership champions has made things complicated as far as participating in the CAF Champions League is concerned, given that they will need to acquire more signings to bolster their squad.

Psbet NFA Cup final call

As the qualified finalists, African Stars FC and Young Brazilians jointly wrote a letter to the Namibia Football Association requesting the PstBet NFA Cup final to be played this coming weekend, citing that a later date will interfere with their CAF competition commitments.

The clubs stated that the initial dates for the final of the tournament was on 9 June.

The NFA yesterday did not comment on the matter at the time of going to print, but sources were confident that the request will fall on deaf ears.
