Shikongo will doom Mosquito- Kamanya

MTC Salute Boxing Academy promoter Kiriata Kamanya is optimistic that their boxing event slated for Saturday night in Windhoek will yield great value to spectators, as well as the desired results for his fighters.
The promoter believes his unbeaten prospect Abed Shikongo will “Doom” his opponent Alfeus Shaanika, nicknamed “Mosquito”.
The two will battle over a scheduled 12 rounds for the vacant WBA Pan Africa welterweight title at the Roman Catholic Hall near Windhoek’s city centre.
“I can promise you now that this will be a great bout that will entertain the crowd.
“My boxer Abed Shikongo has been ready and will probably ‘Doom’ Mosquito out of this one.
“I would like to thank MTC for making this event possible and I also call upon the fans to come in their numbers and support this bout,” Kamanya said.
Shikongo has a clean record of nine wins (4 knockouts) as he prepares to battle unbeaten Shaanika (8-0, 3 knockouts).
Shaanika said he is ready to fight a boxer he knows very well.
“I know Mosquito because we did fight together at amateur level and now we will be battling against each other.
“All I can say is that I am ready and have been preparing very well for this fight,” Shikongo said.
Shaanika also hopes to maintain his perfect record. “I am a man of few words but all I can say is that Shikongo will feel the punches on Saturday,” he said.
The WBA Africa title fight will be the main bout of 10 other fights, happening on the same day from 15:00.
Well-known fighters on the undercard include Nathanael Kakololo vs Hedison “Bulelo” Nghipondoka (welterweight) and experienced former African title holder Anthony Jarman’s debut at heavyweight against Johannes Nangolo.
General tickets are sold at N$100, while a table for ten VIPs will cost N$10 000, or N$20 000 for the VVIP area.
