Right-arm seam bowler Ben Shikongo took a remarkable eight wickets for 16 in seven overs in a Cricket Namibia 50-over premier league club match for CCD Tigers on Saturday.

Shikongo, who recently returned from the Richelieu Eagles’ tour to Nepal, dismantled Trustco United for just 34 all out in their Cricket Namibia 50-over premier league at Wanderers field, after CCD had won the toss and chose to bowl first.

CCD spinner Mauritius Ngupita took 2/6 in five overs, while Tatenda Sithole made the most promising contribution with the bat for United (18 off 12 balls, three fours).

CCD then took only half an hour to reach the target in 6.4 overs. Despite Handre Klazinga (2/20 in 3 overs) dismissing Stephen Baard (0) and Simon Shikongo (4), United were never going to defend such a low total and lost by eight wickets.

CCD batsmen Joshuan Julius (13*) and Nicol Loftie-Eaton (13*) each hit two boundaries as they made easy work finishing off what Shikongo had started.
