Senior golfers on a roll at Rossmund
Golf
The Annual King Price 2024 Senior Open Golf Tournament recently took place at the Rossmund Golf Course.
The tournament attracted a field of 44 golfers from various clubs from throughout Namibia. Weather wise the conditions were good on both days with a bit of humidity and hardly any wind. Flippie Bredenhann and Bertus Le Roux were the best golfers on day one, both coming home with a score of 70 nett. They were followed closely by Tienie van Rensburg and Rory Wolhuter on 71 nett. Unfortunately the golf gurus deserted the day one leaders and left the gate open for the likes of Sigi Baumgartner 67 nett and Tienie De Wet 70 nett.
As always there was a tournament within a tournament between the Coastal and Central players. The Coastal Team emerged as the champions. The winners were: Gross: Tienie De Wet (Walvis Bay); Nett: Sigi Baumgartner (Rossmund). King Price is thanked for their ongoing support of this very prestigious tournament on the Seniors Calendar.
