Schools team could bring medals from RSA

Based on the selections announced at last weekend’s final event of the FNB Schools Mountain Biking series held at Farm Windhoek, Namibia will once again present a strong challenge at the upcoming South African schools championship to be held on 21 and 22 September at Brits (North West Province).
Roger Surén and Delsia Janse van Vuuren, both still under-17 riders competing in their first year at under-18 level, won the African mountain biking championship junior titles in Morocco in May this year and are two of the country’s foremost upcoming talents in the sport.
Two selected riders who have had to withdraw due to other commitments were Nathan Chase and Matti Lukaschik (both boys U16).
The rest of the team announced by the FNB Schools League committee are as follows:
Under 14 boys: Daniël Hennes.
Under 14 girls: Nicole Surén, Anne Cramer, Joadri de Beer.
Under 16 boys: Marco Thiel, Sean Lowe, Christiaan van der Westhuizen.
Under 15 boys: Julius Braun, Mike Baartman, Theodor Janse van Vuuren, Gero Friederich.
Under 16 girls: Rose-Marie Thiel.
Under 17 boys: Roger Surén.
Under 18 boys: Prince Sibomang, Linus Niingo.
Under 17 girls: Delsia Janse van Vuuren.
Under 18 girls: Angela Kamati.
