Robber Chanties the kings at Khorixas

The Khorixas Mayor’s Cup football tournament that concluded over the weekend has been described as a success.

The tournament was won by Robber Chanties, beating Okarindi Komu?ati in the final, after 16 teams from the region had entered the competition held under the auspices of the town’s mayor Patience Hoaes.

Organizer Denis said: “I must say the tournament was a major success. Everything went according to plan and the mayor was pleased with what transpired. We are definitely looking forward to hosting another tournament next year.”

The main organizer lauded the people of Khorixas for playing their part in the success of the tournament.

"The tournament had a positive impact on the people of Khorixas and surrounding areas.”

Individual award winners:

• Goalkeeper of the tournament: Matundu (Okarindi FC).

• Top goalscorer: Rivaldo Gaoxab (Sweet 16).

• Coach of the tournament: Shy Haradoeb (Robber Chanties).

• Rising star player: Rinco !Uwuseb (Lion Football Academy).

• Most disciplined player: Olavi (Sweet 16).
