NFA Cup round of 16 brings the heat
Football
Ongos FC have been drawn against Khomas Nampol in the NFA Cup round of 16.
Various Debmarine Namibia Premiership rivals have been pitted against each other in the round of 16 of the PstBet NFA Cup, following the draw which was conducted at the NFA Football House yesterday.
The venues for this coming weekend’s fixtures will be confirmed this week, but one of the enticing fixtures in the round of 16 will be between the teams that finished second and third in the Debmarine Namibia Premiership season.
Khomas Nampol and Ongos FC will face off for a quarter-final place in this season’s PstBet NFA Cup.
Both these rivals were closely in contention to pip African Stars at the post of their premiership defence this season, but fell short of winning the title as Stars managed a third consecutive league title.
Yesterday’s draw placed African Stars against a traditional rival that is coming to terms with being relegated from the top flight.
Orlando Pirates will be hoping to redeem their spirits when they battle their old foes in a different competition.
