Big guns African Stars survived a nervy penalty shoot-out yesterday before taking their place in the PstBet NFA Cup final, where they will be up against Karasburg’s pride Young Brazilians.
Africans Stars, who won back-to-back Debmarine Premier League titles, defeated Khomas Nampol 3-2 on penalties in the NFA Cup semifinal at Mariental, following a 1-1 draw during regular time.
Ronald Ketjijere scored the goal for African Stars, while George Frans replied for Nampol FC.
On Saturday, Young Brazilian defeated Eeshoke Chula Chula 4-3 on penalties in their semifinal, following a 1-1 draw.
Alfeus Leevi scored for Chula Chula, while Mervin Eiseb scored for Young Brazilians.
Women’s NFA Cup
On Saturday, Ongos Ladies stormed past NUST Babes with a 8-0 scoreline to take their place in the final.
The irrepressible Ivone Kooper (four goals), Lovisa Mulunga (three) and Memory Ngonda struck goals for the winners.
Their opponent in the final will be Nampol Ladies, who created goals for Helena Shuumbwa and Martha Haufiku on their way to eliminating Beauties FC 2-0.
The date and venue for the finals were not known at the time of going to print.
