New generation loading in FNB Schools series
Mountain biking
More than hundred enthusiastic and aspiring young riders competed in the fourth of the FNB Schools mountain biking league’s five events for the year, held at Farm Windhoek in Kleine Kuppe.
Age groups from under-6 to U18 are provided for in this proven training ground for developing the skills and confidence of the country’s next generation of cycling and mountain biking stars.
Representing and earning points for their schools in the build-up to the series finale on 17 August at the same venue, the young riders took on the dedicated number of laps laid out for each age category.
The top results were as follows:
Boys Under-6
1 Christo Esterhuysen (WAP), 2 Reuben Elof (Waloff Academy), 3 Alexander Lamprecht (Klein Plasie).
Girls Under-6
1 Lene Pelser (Rakker Karjakker), 2 Eliana Eloff (Waloff Academy), 3 Miane Steenkamp (Bright Beginnings).
Boys Under-8 (three laps)
1 Neil Liebenberg (Home School), 2 Rueben Christensen (WAP), 3 Jerry Jian (DHPS).
Girls Under-8 (two laps)
