A dart tournament hosted in Keetmanshoop once again lived up to expectations with top dart players competing.
Sixty of the top players from dart clubs throughout Namibia were in action at the annually hosted Keetmanshoop Dart Club Tournament.
Kavango West Dart Club consisting of Chief Robert (The Pioson) Muronga, Joas Kapona, Severen Nangolo and Gert Boois, emerged as the Men’s Team competition winner of the event. Mafia and Khp Mix Dart Club followed in the second position with Keetmanshoop Dart Club finishing in third spot.
The host Keetmanshoop won the Women’s Team category, followed by Raymall Dart Club in second and Kavango East Dart Club in third position.
The tournament was previously known as the Richelieu Tournament. “We hosted the first tournament in 2012 and this is the first year that the tournament is known as the Keetmanshoop Dart Club Tournament. This year we accommodated players from clubs in Kavango East, Kavango West, Oshona, Swakopmund and Windhoek,” explained the tournament director Susan Blaauw.
According to Blaauw this year's competition was tough and thoroughly enjoyed by all. “It was a huge success and this would not have been possible without the support of sponsors. I can confidently say that the overall standard of our game is improving. The police teams are competing again and we recently gave a good account of ourselves in Eswatini.”
Blaauw added that the players are looking forward to the Raymall Dart Club Tournament from 31 October to 2 November in Windhoek and the Falcons Dart Tournament at the Dome in Swakopmund from 29 to 30 November with the AGM scheduled for February 2025 in Windhoek.
