Karuuombe eager for first-team debut with FC Dinamo Tbilisi
FOOTBALL
At 23, Namibian footballer Tjipee Karuuombe is focused on breaking into the first team of Georgia’s FC Dinamo Tbilisi.
Speaking to Sportwrap, Karuuombe described the transition to his new club as smooth, expressing patience and optimism about making his official debut.
"I have been adjusting well, no complaints, just waiting to get my chance for the first team," he said.
Karuuombe officially signed with Dinamo Tbilisi last month, 21 October after completing medical tests and necessary paperwork, following which he played 45 minutes for the second team and earned a spot on the first-team bench.
He made the matchday squad over the weekend for Tbilisi’s 1-1 draw against Samtredia, signaling that he is inching closer to a much-anticipated first appearance.
Furthermore, he noted the heightened physicality and technicality of Georgian football compared to what he experienced in Namibia.
Despite the change, he feels well-prepared, saying, “I have been fully fit and training well,” as he continues to adapt to the demands of European football.
Current log standing
Dinamo Tbilisi currently sits fifth in the league standings, with just five games remaining in the season including a cup final.
While they trail the top three, the club remains focused on finishing the season strong.
In their upcoming fixture, they will face third-placed Dila in a challenging away match, with Dila currently holding a 20-point lead over Tbilisi.
