Designed to cater to both amateur enthusiasts and seasoned competitive athletes, the event will feature a 5 km fun run and a challenging 10 km race through Windhoek's iconic Independence Avenue, closed off exclusively for the occasion.

Agnes Tjongarero, Minister of Sport, Youth, and National Service, highlighted the event's significance in promoting inclusivity and health.

“Road running transcends age and background, making it a uniquely inclusive sport," she remarked during the launch event, praising Nedbank Namibia for their commitment to fostering athleticism and community engagement.

Martha Murorua, managing director of Nedbank Namibia, emphasized the event’s broader significance, likening running to life’s challenges and emphasizing the resilience needed to succeed.

“The Nedbank CitiDash is not just a race; it's a celebration of perseverance and achievement," she declared.

Frank Bombosch from Cycletec, the event organizer, expressed enthusiasm for the unprecedented road closure on Independence Avenue, a testament to the event’s scale, ambition and growing prestige.

The Nedbank CitiDash is not just about competition with others. It's a family-friendly affair with activities for all ages and fitness levels.
