The Namibia Volleyball Federation (NVF) proudly announced the under-19 boys beach national team, comprised of Max Krafft and Luca Kesselmann, to represent the country at the under-19 Africa Nations Beach Championship.

The prestigious event in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, got underway yesterday and will continue until Thursday.

The Namibian pair last year secured the fifth position in the under-21 age group at the African Beach Volleyball Championships in Casablanca, tying with the host country, Burundi and Nigeria. The overall title was claimed by the Gambian pair of Mario Dampha and Nyabally Laity.

The team departed for Abidjan last Friday, under the expert guidance of their coach, Conrad Johannes. Max and Luca have demonstrated exceptional skills and dedication in the sport, and their participation in this championship is a testament to their hard work and commitment.

NVF president Hillary Dux Imbuwa expressed his gratitude to the players' parents and the DTS Sports Club for their invaluable support in facilitating the players' travel and participation.

"We are incredibly proud of Max and Luca for their dedication and achievements. Their participation in this championship is not just a personal triumph, but a national honour.

“I would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to their parents and the DTS Sports Club for their unwavering support and contributions, which have made this journey possible.

"This is a significant moment for Namibian volleyball. Max and Luca are carrying the hopes and dreams of our nation, and we believe they will make us proud. Their journey and efforts reflect the true spirit of Namibian sportsmanship," said Imbuwa.

The NVF encourages all Namibians to join in supporting Max Krafft and Luca Kesselmann as they strive to lift the national flag high in Abidjan. Their participation is not only a milestone for them, but also an inspiration for young players across the country.
