The gift of sight
NEWS IN SHORT
The Windhoek Lions Club handed over a donation of 60 spectacle frames for children and babies this week to Corinna Andreae and her team at the Windhoek Central Hospital Eye Clinic.
The donation was presented by Klaus Bayer from the Starnberg Lions Club, along with Carlo Wagner and Dr Iris Kocak-Laue from the Koblenz Lions Club. “Refractive errors can be easily corrected with eyeglasses, yet millions living in low and middle-income countries lack access to basic eye care services. Lions have recognised the urgent need for corrective lenses and collect usable glasses in their communities to support the Lions Recycle For Sight Programme,” the Lions Club stated.
