OPM opens strategic workshop in Gobabis
The Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) announced the official opening of the 2024-25 annual plan development workshop in Gobabis this week.
In a statement, OPM executive director I-Ben Nashandi said the workshop is the final step in its strategic plan cycle.
"We are here to consolidate the service delivery gains made in the last six years by adding to the cream as a coating so that by the end of the 2024–25 financial year, we could have great achievements on the strategic plan," he said.
"On the environmental front, we are starting the next financial year with some mixed and uncertain weather predictions. The need for more rainfall remains for all regions, which, if it does not materialise, could lead our country into a food deficit and the animal conditions will be negatively affected," Nashandi said.
He emphasised the need for OPM management to focus on key areas that have a direct impact on Vision 2030.
"Before I end, I have earlier talked about the need to ensure that we identify those key programmes we must pursue."
He said these include, among others, the pursuit of digital transformation in all their activities, including the transition to vouchers by 2025 and the development of resilience strategies.
"Furthermore, to implement e-governance solutions, with particular emphasis on the ECabinet, overseeing e-human resource solutions in all organisations, ministries, and agencies," he said.
Nashandi said the OPM also needs to champion innovation and undertake the citizen satisfaction survey as soon as possible.
