NamWater denies Cuvelai water cuts
NEWS IN SHORT
NamWater has denied claims that there is an imminent cut in water supply to the Cuvelai area, part of the North West Business Unit.
“These claims are entirely without basis and do not reflect any plans or intentions from NamWater. NamWater remains fully committed to maintaining a consistent and reliable supply of bulk water to all regions, including the North West Business Unit,” the water utility’s spokesperson Lot Ndamanomhata said in a statement issued yesterday.
These concerns come weeks after NamWater conducted a workshop with the directorate of rural water supply in Ondangwa to explore how it can better manage water supply, particularly for individuals and communities facing challenges such as low water pressure, outdated infrastructure and inaccurate meter readings.
"This workshop underscores our proactive approach to addressing water supply issues and ensuring that our customers receive the best possible service," he said.
Ndamanomhata added: “We want to reassure our customers that the implementation of this strategy will not result in any interruption to the water supply within the Omusati, Ohangwena, Oshikoto and Oshana regions. Our focus is on improving, not disrupting, water access.”
