Hoarusib River flows into the sea
News in short
The Hoarusib River, which traverses the Skeleton Coast Park, reached the sea last week.
According to Leon Krause of Angling Tours Namibia, he and a group of anglers arrived at the river on Thursday.
"We had to wait about 30 minutes on the bank before tackling the river. I first waded through to see the best route and then we all crossed safely. The river must have come down very strongly for days because the brown sea had washed up to the Khumib River," he said.
According to Claudia Reiter, who was travelling through the Kunene Region, her tour group arrived at the Hoarusib outside the Skeleton Coast Park on Monday.
"The river was flowing very strongly. It created high waves, and we had to stay overnight by the river and wait for it to subside. The next day, the water had decreased enough for us to cross safely early in the morning."
