Drug seizures skyrocket
The Namibian Police have revealed that throughout December 2023, they seized drugs valued at just over N$9 million, including cannabis, mandrax, crack cocaine, and methcathinone.
The highest seizure was cannabis (N$8 858 302.40), followed by mandrax (N$91 440), cocaine (N$19 620), and methcathinone (N$105 000).
The busts involved 109 Namibians, one Burundian, one Motswana and one Zambian national.
"Illegal substances are threatening the future of many young Namibians. We appeal to the public to assist the Namibian Police in curbing these types of crimes," the police said in a statement.
