Woman dies by suicide
News in short
A 22-year-old woman died by suicide on Wednesday at Sikondo village in the Kavango West Region.
Namibian Police chief inspector in the region, Raimbert Muronga, confirmed the incident, saying it took place at around 08:00.
The deceased was identified as Nepemba Engelgard Phidelius. Her next of kin have been informed.
According to Muronga, it is alleged that Phildelius took her own life by hanging herself with a piece of cloth. “No suicide note was found on the scene, however, preliminary investigations suggest that the act could have been triggered by an argument with another person. No foul play is suspected,” he said.
Her remains were transported to the Rundu State Mortuary.
