Man dies by suicide
News in short
Over the weekend, a 32-year-old man died by suicide at the Oshika village in Onesi.
According to the Namibian Police, Jason Matty Niilenge’s body was found “hanging with a wire around his neck from the branch of a tree”.
The deceased, who was employed as a domestic worker, was reportedly sent to Outapi by his employer on Friday, 16 February. He was meant to withdraw money from the employer's bank account to buy building materials.
It is further alleged that while deceased withdrew the money, he failed to buy the materials and didn’t give his employer the money either. Instead, he only returned at midnight.
In the morning, his lifeless body was discovered. His next of kin have been informed and investigations continue, police said.
