Green Charcoal Namibia focused on sustainable production
Green Charcoal Namibia opened in 2022 and began operating in 2023.
Based in Arandis, it specialises in the processing, packaging and export of charcoal products, particularly to European markets.
Luis Dedeire, the production manager, said the company currently employs 120 people and is aiming to increase the workforce, with a focus on creating more job opportunities.
“We plan to expand the market by attracting local customers and in neighbouring countries."
Furthermore, Dedeire said their high-quality charcoal is harvested from acacias, which is great for barbecues.
“Since it burns for longer and at a hotter temperature than traditional charcoal, it offers a more effective and enjoyable grilling experience.”
“By using invasive plant species for our production, we are not only helping to stop them from spreading, but we are also contributing to reducing the carbon footprint of the traditional charcoal production process," he explained.
Emphasising health precautions, Dedeire said Green Charcoal Namibia prioritises the health of their employees by providing them with masks, safety boots, and gloves.
