With the lockdown comes new forms of entertainment

With Windhoek - Namibia’s entertainment hub - being on temporary lockdown, entertainers are compelled to find new ways to delight their followers and fans. It was for this reason that musician Cassidy Karon hosted an online concert on Saturday, performing songs from his latest album, 80s Mercedes.
It was refreshing to see many Namibian personalities such as Top Cheri, Luis Munana, Ricardo Mannetti and more joining the party and supporting their industry colleague. Karon also released the music video to his single, Chains. The track features Romi and the video was shot by Reggie Films.
Gazza also released his long-awaited single Kasi Moses on Friday. The track dropped with a music video, with the musician saying: “If we hit 100 000 views on YouTube in a week, I will drop another single.
“Yano, dancehall, kwaito, slow jam or your choice. We got it all,” he promised.
In other news, Simply You Magazine yesterday announced that the fourth instalment of the Simply You Magazine Lifestyle and Fashion Awards (SYMLAFA) will take place on 12 September at the National Theatre of Namibia, with the theme being Met Gala.
SYMLAFA aims to celebrate fashion and art on its much-anticipated red carpet, with a rousing line-up of performers and international personalities. “We are also excited to announce our collaboration with Namibia Wildlife Resorts (NWR) to expose our personalities to promote tourism and the beautiful heritage of our country, as each winner will walk away with a voucher valued at N$5 000 to any NWR resort in Namibia,” read a statement by the organisers.
Application forms are available at symnam.com and entries close on 29 May.
On another note, kwaito artist King Tee Dee is scheduled to make his second appearance in the Windhoek Magistrate’s Court tomorrow for allegedly driving a motor vehicle while under the influence, Nampa reported.
