WINDHOEK

It was an eventful weekend for Windhoek’s art and entertainment scene with MTC launching the 081Every1 Hope Concert and Luis Munana premiering the Zuriel documentary.
Speaking at the 081Every1 Hope Concert launch on Friday, 7 May, MTC's chief of human capital and corporate affairs, Tim Ekandjo said that the concert is an effort to have Namibians recharge their hope and faith for better days ahead. "Covid-19 has affected us in different ways. Some have lost relatives, friends, jobs or have experienced salary cuts, and some have lost hope. With this concept, we are saying that we must never lose hope. As a nation, the challenges that we are faced with too shall come to pass.”
Vuuyo, Pride, Franklin and Dee’A, Rodney Seibeb, Maranatha, Joharetha, Elizabeth, Manda Gabriel, Effy-Otjimbundu, Ayanda Ntanzi, Benjamin Dube, Buci Radebe and the Nam Gospel United are the artists billed for the event, which is set to take place at Safari Hotel on Saturday, 3 July.
Due to Covid-19 regulations, only 100 people will be able to attend in person, with tickets being sold at N$2 000 each via Web Tickets. The rest of the country can catch the event live - for free - on MTC’s social media platforms.

Exclusive
Meanwhile, at a blue carpet event on Saturday, 8 May, model Luis Munana premiered a fashion documentary at Ster-Kinekor, Grove Mall.
“Zuriel is an exclusive, luxurious male and female clothing line which caters to all sizes and ages.
“Zuriel was established in 2016 but officially launched in 2020 at the annual MTC Windhoek Fashion Week,” Munana said.
In other news, also on Saturday, a garden party was held at the Windhoek Country Club for the 2021 Miss Teen Namibia semi-finalists. The title of Miss Teen Debutant went to Sasckia Botha, while Miss Teen Public's Choice was awarded to Alexis Swart. The other eight finalists will be announced in due course.
