The two suspects accused of killing 22-year-old Shannon Wasserfall last year made another court appearance in Walvis Bay yesterday.
Azaan Madisia (28) and Steven Mulundu (22) indicated that they would be applying for bail this month.
The duo was arrested on charges of murder and obstructing as well as defeating the course of justice last year.
They appeared before magistrate Vicky Nicolaidis, who postponed the case to 27 July for further investigation.
The accused indicated that they will bring a formal bail application to the court from 21 to 23 June.
Good progress
According to state prosecutor Maggy Shiyagaya, good progress has been made in the investigation.
“Thus far, we have received a partially completed lab report, so we are still waiting on the full lab report.”
The two accused are represented by Gilroy Kasper, who was absent at the court proceedings yesterday.

Months later, on 6 October, Wasserfall’s remains were found in a shallow grave in Walvis Bay after the police received a tip-off.
Wasserfall’s disappearance sparked countrywide protests demanding justice for her under the #JusticeForShannon campaign.
Mulundu – who is Madisia’s brother – was arrested in November 2020 when he surrendered himself to the police, stating that he allegedly assisted his sister in disposing Wasserfall’s body.
Both accused have been in custody since last year.
