Brave Warriors coach Bobby Samaria says the additional players that joined the camp ahead of a tough international football week have lifted the mood.
The Brave Warriors have a date set with the Congolese national team on 2 September in a crucial world cup qualifier match at the Orlando Stadium in South Africa.
The team will play their home games outside Namibia’s borders after the national stadiums were declared unfit for international matches.
Samaria said the spirit in the camp, which was already high, has been given an extra boost by the arrival of some of his top foreign legions on Sunday.
“Deon, Elmo and Peter made it to camp and as a coach that is what you need to see.
“The vibe in the camp remains positive since we started and the addition of these experienced players has just added value to the training,” Samaria said.
Namibia will then battle Togo away on 5 September, before taking on Senegal on 6 October.
The Warriors will play host to Senegal on 10 October for the return leg before playing Congo away on 11 November.
The Brave Warriors’ last group match will be at home, against Togo on 14 November.
“Like I said before, the opening match will set the tone for the rest of the group stages.
“We just have to remain confident and take each game as it comes,” Samaria added.
