Collective Productions Namibia launched Walking Forward, a five-part web series about the impact of Covid-19 on Namibia’s creative economy, last weekend on YouTube.
Produced by Collective Productions Namibia founder Tim Huebschle, Walking Forward takes a behind-the-scenes look at five cultural subsectors and showcases those who took the pandemic restrictions and turned them into an opportunity.
“In a nutshell, the idea is to understand the impact Covid-19 had and continues to have on the arts and culture industries, but instead of lamenting the reality we all know, we tell stories of hope. Stories of finding a creative way to deal with the situation and stories that celebrates those who keep on walking forward.”

Lessons learnt
Walking Forward is presented by creative entrepreneur Ndinomholo Ndilula who said the web series offered him the opportunity to delve into Windhoek’s creative ecosystem.
The platform also allowed him to explore how a small sample of creative organisations and individuals are maintaining their resilience during a global pandemic, he added.
“In addition to the web series, I have written corresponding blog posts with the intention to put forward concepts, ideas and potential actions that will echo lessons I have learnt from the interviewees.”
