Thieves flee empty-handed from NBL
The suspects attempted to steal five crates of Tafel Lager cans from a warehouse, but were interrupted by a security guard and dropped their loot.

Two suspects broke into Namibia Breweries Limited (NBL) in Windhoek's Northern Industrial Area on Sunday to steal alcohol, but fled the scene empty-handed.
The police said the men entered the premises by cutting a fence.
They attempted to steal five crates of Tafel Lager cans from a warehouse, but were interrupted by a security guard and dropped their loot.
The suspects pulled out knives, but later fled the scene.
No arrests have been made.
Elderly woman assaulted, robbed
In a separate incident, a 72-year-old woman was attacked by an unknown suspect in her house at Usakos on Saturday.
The suspect allegedly entered the house through an open bathroom window, accosted the woman in her room and proceeded to strangle and hit her several times.
After the woman managed to escape, the suspect went into the kitchen, took N$4 200 from her handbag and fled the scene.
A pistol with a scratched-off serial number without ammunition and a crowbar were found in the bathroom below the window the suspect used to enter and exit the residence. The woman was taken to the Usakos State Hospital in a stable condition. No arrest or recovery has been made.
Robbery
In another incident in Katutura, a 53-year-old woman was threatened with a firearm after suspects entered her house by breaking down the door.
They stole a TV set, three cellphones and N$1 850 in cash.
No arrest or recovery has been made.
Fetus found
On Saturday in Katutura, a fetus was discovered in a dustbin by a member of the public, who reported the incident to the police.
A case of concealment of birth/abortion and defeating the course of justice has been opened.
Drugs
Meanwhile, seven Namibians and one South African were arrested over the weekend in the Erongo, Khomas and //Karas regions for possession of and/or dealing in drugs such as crack cocaine, mandrax and cannabis.
The drugs have a combined value of N$337 050.
