Owner of Power-Power Development and Boxing Academy Risto Ashikoto said boxing stables should continue to have humanity towards each other to make society a better place.

Ashikoto's boxers received food parcels from MTC Nestor Sunshine Tobias Boxing and Fitness Academy and MTC Salute Boxing Academy in April.

'The situation caused by Covid-19 is affecting everyone, but you stood tall and helped us in the time of need.

“The world will be a better place if we continue to keep the spirit of sharing even after the pandemic.

“We can only make Namibia a better place in and out of the boxing ring and I hope the situation will get back to normal soon and that we put Namibia on the world map when it comes to boxing,” he said.

Helping hand

The two rival boxing stables donated hand sanitiser and food parcels to the value of N$70 000 to boxers from the Khomas Region.

Due to all boxing events having been postponed or cancelled due to the national coronavirus lockdown, many local boxers have been left without any income.
