The master will do his job, says Uushona
“I will take him deep in the sea and if he is not strong enough, he will not come out,” Bethuel ‘Tyson’ Ushona warned his German opponent Deniz Ilbay yesterday.
The two boxers will be in the ring tomorrow for the vacant World Boxing Federation (WBF) world welterweight title at the Indoor Sport Complex in Walvis Bay.
Uushona made the remarks yesterday when he faced off with Ilbay in Windhoek.
He said competing for a world title had always been his dream and getting the opportunity now was a “dream come true”.
“I am ready and come Saturday it is just a matter of delivering to my fans,” he said.
“I have respect for every boxer I face but come Saturday, I will come out top because we have done our job and I can tell you I am in shape,” he said.
Uushona added that he would be sorry for his opponent tomorrow night, as “the master will do his job.”
He said his camp was focused and couldn’t wait to step into the ring.
For his part, Ilbay assured Uushona that he had trained well and did not come to Namibia for a loss.
“I am excited about this fight and I know it is going to be a good fight on Saturday,” he said, adding that he hoped they would not hurt themselves before the big day.
He called on boxing fans to make their way to the sport complex, as those who did not show up would miss out on a great fight.
Six undercard fights are scheduled, with the main supporting bout being the WBF Junior Lightweight International title fight between Abraham Ndaendapo and Oscar Chauke of South Africa.
