Stern test for Nakathila
World Boxing Organisation (WBO) global junior lightweight champion Jeremiah 'Low-Key' Nakathila faces a stern challenge from Zimbabwe's Peter Pambeni tomorrow at the Windhoek Country Club Resort.
The two boxers faced off yesterday at the Post Street Mall, with no love lost between them.
The challenger is hell-bent on ruffling Nakathila's feathers tomorrow night.
Nakathila is ranked number three by World Boxing Organization he WBO and beat Hungary's Zoltan Kovacs in March.
He is now poised to take on a Zimbabwean who in August caused an upset when he defeated Namibia's Albinius 'Danny Boy' Felesianu and walked away with the WBO Africa lightweight title.
Nakathila, who fights under the banner of the MTC Nestor Sunshine Tobias Boxing Academy, boasts a record of 19 fights and only one loss, which he suffered in 2016 against Russia's Evgeny Chuprakov. They were contesting for the WBO inter-continental super featherweight title.
The Namibian turned professional in 2013, when he defeated David Shinuna via a technical knockout.
Pambeni has a record of 23 fights, 17 wins, three losses and three draws. He turned professional in 2004 and beat countryman Culverwell Sanyarukova in his first bout.
