Prince Harry to honeymoon in Namibia

The red-head prince from Britain and his new bride have decided to spend their honeymoon in Namibia.

Prince Harry is expected to take is wife-to-be Meghan Markle for a romantic honeymoon in Namibia after their royal wedding on 19 May.

Media reports indicate that Prince Harry will stay at a luxury lodge in north-western Namibia.

Prince Harry is said to have contacted lodge company Natural Selection to organise an adventure in Namibia.

Natural Selection organises unique safari experiences across southern Africa for up-market clients.

A source close to the royal couple told media that they have been advised to use a number of different lodges so that people do not know their exact whereabouts.

One of Natural Selection's newest attractions is the Hoanib Valley Camp, which is a four-hour drive by car from the nearest town Kamanjab, where the couple is expected to stay.

Natural Selection will only open Hoanib Valley Camp in the remote and wild Kaokoland in northwest Namibia in May this year.

The lodge, with six tented suites, is said to be exclusive and luxury with rates starting at N$8 000 per person per night.

This new camp is a joint venture between Natural Selection, the local communities and the Giraffe Conservation Foundation. Located in the Sesfontein Community Conservancy, the camp sits on the banks of the Obias River, and overlooks the ephemeral Hoanib River - a favourite foraging area for elephants.

In 2015, Prince Harry visited Namibia during a three month conservation trip in Africa.

He visited the Kunene Region where he worked with top rhino veterinarian Dr Pete Morkel who was the former head of the Namibian Game Capture Unit.

Prince Harry reportedly chose to work in Namibia out of hundreds of conservation projects after reading about the work being done by the nature conservancy that closely works with the Save the Rhino Trust.

Namibia has been become popular among celebrities and stars such as actresses Angelina Jolie and even Charlize Theron, for its relative isolation and perceived privacy.

There are also rumours that the royal pair could visit Botswana where they first visited together weeks after they began dating in July 2016.
