With six episodes out, creator of ‘Omunahambo Wange’ Jacky Pop - real name Jackson Nghinamhito – has announced nine more episodes to complete the first season of the comedy web series.

In an interview with tjil, he shared that the series tells the story of a man who inherits assets.

“The concept of the web series is traditional versus modern. The two main characters highlight these features. I play the main character who enjoys the modern lifestyle, while the other character, Shiliva WokOkongo, enjoys a traditional lifestyle.”

Using the internet as a conduit to share his content, ‘Omunahambo Wange’ airs on his Facebook page and YouTube channel.

Nghinamhito said the series educates people about hardships in both the city and the village.

“We know there are people who are like the characters we portray in the web series – who grew up in the city and don't know much about the village life.”

Relatable content

“We believe our following and viewership keep growing because the content is something a lot of Namibian people can relate to,” he added.

The series also stars comedians Cassije Jessica, Thomas Shangula and Ndjeke YaMalimba.

“Episode seven, which was shot in the north, will premiere this month and the rest will follow. I don’t want to spoil it for you but be on the lookout for good laughter,” Nghinamhito said.

Meanwhile, Films Icon, the production house responsible for ‘Omunahambo Wange’, is seeking aspiring script writers who want to hone their craft and spotlight those who have potential, he shared.
