Omeya Ladies Open produces new stars

Omeya Golf Club played host to another successful Namibia Amateur Ladies Golf Union (NALGU) event this past weekend.
With a near-perfect golf course and weather conditions, players took full advantage and posted some excellent scores.
Women’s golf continues to grow from strength to strength, with this being one of the best-attended competitions this year.
Wilna Bredenhann showed why she is considered to be one of the best in the country by posting a 157 gross score to be crowned the Omeya Ladies Open champion.
Brenda Lens (173 gross) and Lydia Lumley 148 (net) took the first places in the Gross and Net divisions.
In the C division Stableford competition Anja Nel set the course on fire with 84 points, winning this division by 14 points over her nearest rival, Jane Liebenberg.
Ruanda de Beer took first place in the Sunday Stableford competition with 37 points.
NALGU thanked the sponsors, Quality Bake Engineering, Macadam’s Technical Services, The Flavour Lab, Africa Online, Zebra Trailers and Omeya Golf Club, for supporting this event and women’s golf.
