Nedbank for Autism series heads to the coast
Golf enthusiasts will battle it out for top spots at Walvis Bay this coming weekend.

The Nedbank for Autism series will start this weekend after it was put on hold due the national coronavirus restrictions.
The series, which was launched at the beginning of the year to raise awareness and funds for the Autism Association of Namibia, will be teeing off its coastal leg at the Walvis Bay Golf Club on Saturday, 26 September.
Golfers to come alive
The series will then head to the Rossmund Golf Course in Swakopmund on Saturday, 3 October, and then to the Henties Bay Golf and Lifestyle Estate on Saturday, 10 October.
“There is a need for much more acute awareness about autism and that is why Nedbank took this opportunity to support this cause, and we are quite proud to be associated with the Nedbank for Autism Golf Series.
“The 'Coastal Swing' part of the series gives us an opportunity to connect with golfers in the greater Erongo Region once more, and as per our discussions with the Namibia Sport Commission, we will be abiding completely to the Covid-19 protocols that have been entrenched within all of us during the past few months,” says JG van Graan, Nedbank chief financial officer.
Allowed in any events
The series coordinator, Dan Zwiebel from DZ Golf, said all golfers are allowed to participate in any of the events, with players with official handicaps qualifying for prizes.
“The winner from each event will then progress to the final in the capital, with the format being an individual stableford.
At the final event, the nine winners will respectively team up with an invited sponsoring team consisting of three players to compete for team prizes as well as the attractive overall prizes,” he said.
