Ndafoluma recovers from lung infection
Namibian boxer Lukas Ndafoluma has fully recovered from a lung infection which cost him a fight over the weekend.

Former WBO Africa middleweight champion Lukas ‘Demolisher’ Ndafoluma insists he is still at his peak despite recently losing the title to South Africa’s Nkululeko Mhlongo.
Ndafoluma, who last week noted that he lost the fight due to a lung infection, is optimistic that he will reclaim the title during their rematch.
“I was totally sick last time around and that cost me the fight because I just could not continue.
“I make a mistake because I fought while I did not feel well and I lost the fight.
“That does not mean I was not good enough or he was better, because I know that I am the real deal at the moment,” Ndafoluma said.
The stable revealed after last weekend’s fight that a rematch would be on the cards despite not including it in their contract.
Namibian Sun understands that Salute Boxing Academy is on the verge of the securing the rematch following “promising” negotiations between the two camps.
“I trust that my promoters will secure me the rematch because it is just important for me to reclaim my belt.
“I believe that it is promising and we could have a rematch by the beginning of the year,” Ndafoluma told Namibian Sun.
Dealing with disappointment
The boxer admitted that he was also disappointed that he could not give his fans an early Christmas present.
He also had to deal with the disappointment of not being able to call off the fight before it took place.
“After such a disappointing night, it takes you a few days to really digest what has just happened. I have big dreams of claiming the world title and that is why losing in such fashion, while I could have avoided the fight due to my illness, was frustrating.
“I am however a professional who has seen darker days before and this is just one of those phases I will overcome and pass with flying colours,” he added.
The defeat meant that Ndafoluma has lost four fights in his 24 professional career.
The boxer boasts an impressive record of 20 wins, of which 10 came by knockout.
The MTC Salute camp have rested their hopes on Ndafoluma to bring the world title home.
But he will have to wait before he can challenge for the world title, given that his immediate quest is to reclaim the WBO Africa title.
“Well, I have enough time to regroup in order to be 100% ready for the start of next year.
“This was a year of mixed emotions and mixed-up things but we will overcome whatever test is put to us.
“Like I said, I am still a beast and believe to be the best in the business.
“I would like to wish all my fans and boxing lovers a wonderful festive season. I will be back next year,” Ndafoluma said.
